Administrator with Financial Knowledge


The Horsemen’s Group is looking to appoint an experienced Administrator with financial knowledge to assist its Chief Executive in our Horsham office.


Providing day-to-day front-line administration and finance support. This position performs functions, which include coordination of the Chief Executive’s office with member organisations of the horsemen’s group and other industry participants. The position offers a challenging opportunity to work for a key organisation in the horseracing industry.


The successful candidate will be experienced in providing administrative support and have sound financial knowledge of small company accounts. An interest in horseracing would be preferred but is not essential.


Responsibilities:


Maintain chief executive’s calendar, scheduling meetings as necessary, exercising considerable judgement and discretion in handling requests for appointments routing them to others as necessary.

Act as an extension of the chief executive via sending emails or answering questions both internally and externally, and responding to general queries.

Assist with various communications pieces published by the horsemen’s group that include but are not limited to blog posts, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations and reports.

Organise and manage pending tasks and recurring tasks and projects.

Preparing and issuing papers in advance of meetings and producing minutes as required.

Processing of purchase orders and producing basic financial reports.

Any other appropriate tasks as directed from time to time.


Qualifications:


Experienced administrator with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and some financial knowledge

High-level of formal qualifications

Excellent English language skills

Highly professional demeanour

Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Able to manage, prioritize and execute multiple tasks

Very strong organisational and personal communication skills

Ability to work with discretion and handle confidential information

Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines

Takes ownership for own performance and identify areas for improvement and development

Ability to liaise with member organisations

Capability to work unsupervised at times

Able to work with a very small focused team
